Listen to Lana Del Rey's 'Once Upon a Dream'
"Sleeping Beauty" is my all-time favorite Disney movie — so when I heard about the upcoming movie "Maleficent," I naturally geeked out.
I'm still unclear on what direction they will take the story, but seeing this trailer last night during the GRAMMYs made me feel a little better. It featured an amazing cover of "Once Upon a Dream" by Lana Del Rey. It totally matches the dark and broody vibe of Angelina Jolie's Maleficent.

Geeking over: No Manches Clothing
T-shirts are the tortillas of our wardrobe. Stay with me! :)
They serve as simple staple pieces yet they can really make your outfit unique and memorable. T-shirts can also provide much-needed comfort while you're lounging around, or cleaning your house while singing Marco Antonio Solis songs. That said, you might as well have some culturally empowering options!
I had heard about No Manches Clothing before, but after I got this amazing Frida long-sleeve tee for Christmas (Gracias Ivan), I wanted to check out what else they had on their website.
I pretty much wish I had their entire collection in my closet, but here are my absolute faves for women, men and baby. If you need some cultura in your closet, I urge you to check them out.
First row: Educated Latina | Frida Long Sleeve | Hecha en Chicago
Second row: Mexican Gothic | ¡Toma! Onesie | Chicago Skull
Find them online, on Twitter, on Facebook or in person at 1800 W. 18th Street, Chicago.

'Game of Thrones' behind the scenes video

HBO released this behind the scenes featurette that shows you a little more of what's to come for our favorite characters.
For those who are caught up and want to dig into screenshots of the video, click here. (Spoilers!)

Get it girl: Rita Moreno
Rita Moreno is the only Latina to win an EGOT — an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony. This past weekend she was honored with a Life Achievement award by the Screen Actor’s Guild.
Rita's always been the type of actor to not be afraid to tell it like it is — so I was not surprised hearing what she says about playing stereotypical Latina roles:

How to be Wayne Campbell from 'Wanye's World'
With growing families and busy lives, my college friends and I have a hard time getting together during the holidays. Which is why we throw an annual themed holiday party in mid-January! This year "Saturday Night Live" was the theme, and I decided to dress up as Wayne from "Wayne's World."
Here's how to achieve this simple and awesome costume:
Dressing up like Wayne is pretty easy. Throw on a semi-fitted black t-shirt, ripped light-wash jeans and the infamous "Wayne's World hat." My hair is currently the perfect length for Wayne's mullet-y style. :)
You could come up with these basic items pretty easily, but here's where I got my stuff.
Outfit details:
Men's black t-shirt: Target | Wayne's World hat: Amazon | Distressed boyfriend jeans: Forever 21 | Shoes: Converse or more affordable option from Target

#TBT
For today's post I thought I'd keep it simple and do a #TBT — aka throwback Thursday — in honor of my great aunt Avelina, who just passed away. I'm very grateful to have had a fierce, independent, sassy Mexicana like her to look up to while growing up. I'll miss you, tía.
One Yummy Minute in México
Full disclosure: I am one of those people that happen to like taking photos of food I eat when I'm out. I do it quickly, and I don't use flash, so I'm not apologizing for it! Let me continue to pretend I'm a foodie! :)
Combine my love of food and my love for México and you get this amazing video experience.
If I could shoot and edit and style a video about Mexican food, this is exactly what I would aspire to capture on film. The Perennial Plate ate all over Mexico and created this wonderful, delicious one-minute video, One Minute in Mexico. Watch and drool with me.

El Top 5: Frozen on Broadway, Worf on Wall Street, and 'Domestic Scenes'
These are 5 things that I think are awesome at this moment. :)
1. One of the best movies I've seen lately — "Frozen" — is going to be a live musical! This was a fantastic movie with laughs, great songs and teary moments for me. And c'mon, Olaf is everything. More here.
2. This Worf of Wall Street photo. Ahh, internet, sometimes I just love you.
3. As someone who used to seriously cross-stitch in my teen years (yep, I was that girl) I love these cross-stitch Downton Abbey crafts. Check it here.
4. Watch this compilation of Wes Anderson's slow motion shots set to a lovely The Shins song. Happy sigh. :)
5. Talented artist Ramiro Gomez has created incredibly poignant art juxtaposing luxury homes and images of domestic workers. You got to see the rest of his collection over at Fusion.

Spanish cover of 'Wake Me Up'
You know that "Wake Me Up" song by Avicii and Aloe Blacc that's on all the time on the radio? Yeah, I find it annoying too.
Well, listen to this Spanish cover of it. I love it! There's something about Spanish that makes songs better for me. :)
