Catcalling exposed

You may have seen this video, it's been buzzing around the web. If not though—watch it below. I'm surprised it took this long for someone to make a video like this and bring to light an issue than many women + girls have had to deal with since the invention of the sidewalk.

El Top 5: Pop-up Westeros, Adele Dazim and NailSnaps

These are 5 things I think are awesome at the moment.

I remember loving pop-up books when I was younger, so it's no surprise I'd freak out about the soon-to-be released pop-up book, Game of Thrones: A Pop-Up Guide to Westeros.

I spend so much time relying on my iPhone sometimes it gets easy to forget how far cellphones have come. This adorable video shows how cellphones have evolved over the last 40 years.

This. Over and over again.

This kickstarter that I just supported. I'm just thinking of all the geeky nail designs I could make...

One of my favorite movies that I quote all the time is "The Wedding Singer." So watching this cute clip of Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore made me happy. Especially at the very end. :)

Geeking over: This little Mexican kid

It's been a long week (it's only Tuesday!) and Chicago continues to be cold, snowy, and kind of dreary. So this video totally made my day and I hope it does the same for you.

Check out this adorable kid and his even more adorable dance moves:

Get it girl: Rita Moreno

Rita Moreno is the only Latina to win an EGOT — an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony. This past weekend she was honored with a Life Achievement award by the Screen Actor’s Guild.

Rita's always been the type of actor to not be afraid to tell it like it is — so I was not surprised hearing what she says about playing stereotypical Latina roles:

Geeking over: 'Frozen' medley by Pentatonix

If you've seen the movie "Frozen" and can't stop singing the songs like me — seriously, ask my husband, I'm obsessed — hopefully you'll also geek over this medley by the insanely talented group Pentatonix.

And if after watching that you just crave more, check out this or this or this.

One Yummy Minute in México

Full disclosure: I am one of those people that happen to like taking photos of food I eat when I'm out. I do it quickly, and I don't use flash, so I'm not apologizing for it! Let me continue to pretend I'm a foodie! :)

Combine my love of food and my love for México and you get this amazing video experience.

If I could shoot and edit and style a video about Mexican food, this is exactly what I would aspire to capture on film. The Perennial Plate ate all over Mexico and created this wonderful, delicious one-minute video, One Minute in Mexico. Watch and drool with me.

El Top 5: Frozen on Broadway, Worf on Wall Street, and 'Domestic Scenes'

These are 5 things that I think are awesome at this moment. :)

I seriously can NOT stop singing "Let it go."

I seriously can NOT stop singing "Let it go."

1. One of the best movies I've seen lately — "Frozen" — is going to be a live musical! This was a fantastic movie with laughs, great songs and teary moments for me. And c'mon, Olaf is everything. More here.

2. This Worf of Wall Street photo. Ahh, internet, sometimes I just love you.

Downton-Abbey-Cross-Stitch.jpg

3. As someone who used to seriously cross-stitch in my teen years (yep, I was that girl) I love these cross-stitch Downton Abbey crafts. Check it here.

4. Watch this compilation of Wes Anderson's slow motion shots set to a lovely The Shins song. Happy sigh. :)

5. Talented artist Ramiro Gomez has created incredibly poignant art juxtaposing luxury homes and images of domestic workers. You got to see the rest of his collection over at Fusion

Spanish cover of 'Wake Me Up'

You know that "Wake Me Up" song by Avicii and Aloe Blacc that's on all the time on the radio? Yeah, I find it annoying too.

Well, listen to this Spanish cover of it. I love it! There's something about Spanish that makes songs better for me. :)

I quit! In this awesome dancey Kanye way

It's 4:30 in the morning. Most people are knocked out, snoring before they hit snooze. This woman is up and at 'em, making an adorable and epic video in which she quits her job. I wonder what her company thinks of her 10 million views on YouTube...

I work for an awesome company that makes news videos. I have put my entire life into this job, but my boss only cares about quantity, how fast we write and how many views each video gets. I believe it's more important to focus on the quality of the content.
